Supported platform

Our Supported Technology Platform.

These are minimum standards for hardware and software that you need to have in place in order for us to meet Our Service obligations. We will update this list from time to time as certain technologies age and other technologies are released and tested by us. If an item requiring support does not meet our Minimum Standards, it will be at our sole discretion whether we charge you for any time incurred for supporting that item.

Servers

Dell (preferred) or Lenovo servers with the following characteristics:

  • Redundant PSU
  • Warranty: Current
  • CPU: Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC
  • RAM: 16+ GB
  • OS: Windows Server 2019+ (2022 or newer preferred; Server 2016 reaches end of extended support January 2027 - replacement must be scheduled)
  • Storage: RAID
  • Dell iDRAC, HP iLO or similar
  • Covered by managed backup

Computers

Business or Enterprise models with the following characteristics:

  • Make: Dell (preferred) (Latitude, OptiPlex, Precision, current Dell Pro lines) / Lenovo (ThinkPad / ThinkCentre) / Apple Mac
  • Warranty: Current

Firewalls / Routers

A business-grade firewall/router is required. An ISP modem or ISP-supplied router alone does not meet this standard.

  • Fortinet FortiGate

Switches

  • Ubiquiti UniFi (preferred)
  • Meraki MS

WiFi APs

Wireless networks must use WPA2 or WPA3. Open or WEP networks are not supported.

  • Ubiquiti UniFi (preferred)
  • Meraki MR

Email, Productivity Platforms

We are Microsoft-first. Microsoft 365 Business Premium is the required baseline for managed-service clients - it carries the security stack we deliver (Defender for Endpoint, Intune device management, Entra ID Conditional Access).

  • Microsoft 365 (Business Premium required for full managed service)
  • Google Workspace (supported for email and docs where it already exists; Microsoft 365 Business Premium is still the required baseline for full managed service)

Cloud Platforms

  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Linode

Operating Systems

Supported means patched - devices must be able to receive current security updates from the vendor.

  • Windows 11 Pro / Enterprise (Windows 10 reached end of support October 2025 and is no longer supported; Windows 10 devices require replacement)
  • Apple macOS: one of the three most recent major releases
  • Windows Server 2019+ (2022 or newer preferred)

Storage

  • IXSystems TrueNAS
  • Synology
  • Dell

Security Baseline

These apply across the environment, not to any single device:

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) required on all accounts
  • Endpoint detection and response (EDR) on all computers
  • Application allowlisting on managed endpoints
  • Devices must be able to receive current operating system and security updates
  • Encrypted disks on all computers (BitLocker or FileVault)

Data Protection

  • Business data must live in locations covered by backup: Microsoft 365 (OneDrive / SharePoint) or a managed server
  • Data stored solely on a local disk is not protected and is not covered by our service obligations
